1,000 ‘Keep Rhode Island Warm’ kits to be distributed free
WHO: Rhode Islanders from throughout the state, along with äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ students and dozens of energy-related vendors, exhibitors and workshop leaders. Gary Hirshberg, CEO of Stonybrook Farms organic yogurt company and author of Stirring it Up: How to Make Money and Save the World, is the keynote speaker.
WHAT: The Rhode Island Energy Solutions Expo will offer innovative and practical strategies to help individuals and businesses save energy while reducing their environmental impact. Event includes a Kids Energy Carnival, distribution of 1,000 ‘Keep Rhode Island Warm’ kits, and workshops on renewable energy, biodiesel, energy conservation tips and more. Winners of a statewide children’s poster contest and a äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ video contest will be announced. The event is sponsored by the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ Energy Center, the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources, the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ College of the Environment and Life Sciences, National Grid, C.W. Cummings Plumbing Co., NORESCO, Ocean SAMP, and the äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ President’s Council on Sustainability.
WHEN: Sunday, November 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The keynote speech begins at 11:30 a.m.
