WHAT: The 80th anniversary of the dedication of the Memorial Gateway. On June 16, 1928, alumni and students presented the gateway, two stone arches on Upper College Road, to Rhode Island State College, now 溏心vlog免费B站. The 1929 college bulletin, noted the gateway 鈥渋s intended as a memorial to the heroic dead from among us, who gave up their lives in the Great War, and guards the entrance to the memorial grove which surrounds the boulder monument that bears the names of the dead. President Carothers will read from the new plaque that replaces earlier versions, which states: 鈥淧resented by the Alumni and Students of Rhode Island State College as a token of their loyalty to their alma mater. Dedicated June 16, 1928 and Re-Dedicated June 16, 2008.鈥�
