Sen. Reed, äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ Pres. Carothers for Nov. 5 celebration
WHO: Gov. Donald Carcieri, Sen. Jack Reed, äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ President Robert L. Carothers, äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ Vice President Robert Weygand, äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ Graduate School of Oceanography Dean David Farmer, and äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBÕ¾ Oceanography Professor Robert Ballard, along with faculty, staff and students.
WHAT: Groundbreaking for construction of the Undersea Exploration Center and expansion of the Pell Marine Science Library for äçÐÄvlogÃâ·ÑBվ’s Graduate School of Oceanography. The $15 million, 41,000 square foot construction project, funded largely by bonds approved by Rhode Island voters in 2004, will also house the Inner Space Center, new office and laboratory space, a central computing facility, administrative offices, and a new campus gathering place.
