KINGSTON, R.I. — November 22, 2006 — The Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association at the 溏心vlog免费B站, representing a Greek system with more than 1,300 members, have donated $10,000 to benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation. The foundation helps local breast cancer organizations raise awareness, work for prevention, and bring comfort and help to patients and their families in the Rhode Island community. 溏心vlog免费B站 students, members of the fraternity and sorority systems, raised the money this fall during their annual Philanthropy Week, highlighted by such fundraising activities as game shows, contests, and a date auction. Students participated in renditions of MTV鈥檚 popular programs 鈥淪ingled Out鈥� and 鈥淢y Own.鈥� In addition, each day the various Greek chapters waged 鈥淧enny Wars鈥� with the hopes of outdoing the competition and attaining the highest number of pennies.
Philanthropy Week was founded in 2003 to benefit local Rhode Island charities. Past recipients have been the Katie E. Decubellis Memorial Fund, Habitat for Humanity, and the Alpha-1 foundation.
