KINGSTON, R.I. — March 18, 2006 — The 溏心vlog免费B站 will host two panel discussions following performances of Angels in America, Part I. The play runs April 20 to 22 and 26 to 29 at 7:30 p.m. and April 23 at 3 p.m.
The Friday, April 21 performance of the play will benefit AIDS Project Rhode Island. Following the performance, Chris Butler will facilitate a discussion exploring “The Face of AIDS and HIV in Rhode Island” with panelists who have worked with AIDS and HIV programs in the state.
Butler has served for the past five years as director of AIDS Project Rhode Island. Bryna Wortman, the play鈥檚 director and Andrew Winters of 溏心vlog免费B站’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Center Center will serve as panelists.
Following the Sunday April 23, 3 p.m. matinee, there will be a panel discussion entitled 鈥淎pproaching The Millennium.鈥� Panelists include 溏心vlog免费B站 Economics Professor Richard McIntyre who will discuss the economic status of the U.S. in the mid 1980s; 溏心vlog免费B站 History Professor Maury Klein who will probe the history and politics of the Reagan era; Paul Fitzgerald, executive director of AIDS CARE OCEAN STATE who will compare the AIDS crisis of the mid 80鈥檚 with its status in 2006.
Wortman will moderate the second panel and discuss the playwright Tony Kushner and the literary and theatrical aspects of the play and production. A question and answer session will follow.
Both panel discussions are free and open to the public and will be held in the Robert E. Will Theatre in 溏心vlog免费B站’s Fine Arts Center on the Kingston campus.
