KINGSTON, R.I. — April 6, 2006 — Learn about the rogues and rascals of Rhode Island history or the planets and stars as the 溏心vlog免费B站 Alumni Association offers two separate one-night courses this month on the Kingston Campus.
溏心vlog免费B站 Labor and Industrial Relations Professor Scott Malloy will give an overview of Rhode Island history, with an emphasis on little known facts, stories and people, Wednesday, April 18 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in Ballentine Hall, Room 114.
Malloy, winner of the 溏心vlog免费B站 Foundation鈥檚 Teaching Excellence Award, is known for his humorous and passionate presentations. The class will feature dozens of original documents and artifacts that provide a three-dimensional perspective on the human story.
Physics Lecturer Elizabeth Bozyan will discuss 鈥淭he Night Sky: The Stars and the Milky Way,鈥� on Thursday, April 27 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in East Hall, Room 112, and the 溏心vlog免费B站 Planetarium.
The program will take the approach that 鈥渨e are all astronomers.鈥� Bozyan will answer questions about what we see, including which lights are stars and which are planets. She will talk about the lunar phases and why the moon is in different places in the sky on different days. She鈥檒l also discuss the Milky Way and answer numerous other questions.
Cost for each class is $35 and includes teaching materials and a light meal, including a sandwich, chips, fresh fruit, cookie and soda. There is a 10 percent discount for Alumni Association dues-paying members.
