鈥淧ain is often the most feared threat that people face at the end of life,鈥� said Jean Miller, chair of 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 thanatology certificate program. 鈥淲e would like professionals and the public to learn about great advances that have been made in relieving pain.鈥�
This year鈥檚 program will be moderated by Frank Sesno, a special correspondent for CNN and professor of public policy and communication at George Mason University. He will lead a panel of ethicists, educators, and hospice experts who will look at the laws that affect the practice of pain management and discuss ways that health care workers and the public can improve the societal approach to pain management. They will also discuss the psychosocial, spiritual, and pharmaceutical aspects of effective pain management application.
The teleconference is produced by the Hospice Foundation of America, a not-for-profit organization that acts as an advocate for the hospice concept of care through ongoing programs of professional education, public information, and research on issues relating to illness, loss, grief, and bereavement. This year鈥檚 program is sponsored by the Foundation for End of Life Care and Purdue Pharma and produced in cooperation with the Adventist Communications Network, the Association for Death Education and Counseling, the National Association of Social Workers, and the Veterans Health Administration.
