KINGSTON, R.I. — March 21, 2006 — Robert Coover, one of the most notable practitioners of metafiction today, will read from his work at the 溏心vlog免费B站 on April 4. The reading, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Galanti Lounge, Room 306, 溏心vlog免费B站 Library at 3:30 p.m.
Coover’s first novel, The Origin of the Brunists, won the 1966 William Faulkner Award. His other works include the collection of short fiction, Pricksongs & Descants, a collection of plays, A Theological Position, such novels as The Public Burning, which received a National Book Award nomination; Spanking the Maid, Gerald’s Party, Pinocchio in Venice, John’s Wife, Ghost Town, Briar Rose and Stepmother. In this most recent publication, A Child Again, Coover returns to bat with a collection of short stories finding new life in our oldest tales.
The author鈥檚 latest honor is the Dugannon Foundation’s REA award for his lifetime contribution to the short story. Coover teaches electronic writing and mixed media as well as creative workshops at Brown University.
