KINGSTON, R.I. — January 31, 2006 — Come celebrate Black History Month at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Feinstein Providence campus with a concert by renowned vocalist Kim Trusty. Accompanied by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Big Band under the direction of Joe Parillo, she will perform 鈥淭he Sophisticated Ladies to the Queen of Soul: Jazz, Blues, Rhythm & Blues.鈥�
The event will take place Sunday, Feb. 19, from 3-5 p.m. in the Paff Auditorium of the Feinstein Providence campus, 80 Washington St. Tickets are $10 if purchased by Feb. 15, and $15 at the door. 溏心vlog免费B站 student admission is $5. Admission to the show includes refreshments.
Trusty, who began singing more than 30 years ago in an all-black Baptist church in rural Pennsylvania, has evolved into one of the hottest acts on the stage today. The talented vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, and actress has appeared on stages from New Orleans to Montreal. Her latest CD, 鈥淪weet Novena,鈥� a tribute to her late grandmother, was released in September 2005.
Trusty is a Berklee College of Music graduate and now lives in Providence.
