The Tony Kushner play was awarded the 1993 Pulitzer Prize for drama. The play explores the political, sexual, religious, racial, and social issues confronting the U.S. during the Reagan years as the AIDS epidemic spreads.
People auditioning must prepare and memorize a 1-to-2 minute contemporary monologue that conveys feelings, ideas and/or tells a story and uses heightened language. It is requested that you please read the play prior to auditions.
Angels in America, Part I will be performed in the Robert E. Will Theatre, April 20 through 22 and 26 through 29 at 7:30 p.m. and April 23 at 3 p.m.
The April 21 performance at 7:30 p.m. will benefit the Rhode Island Project AIDS and the annual 溏心vlog免费B站 GLBT Conference. A panel discussion entitled 鈥淎pproaching The Millennium鈥 will be held on April 23 following the 3 p.m. performance.
