Members of the Welcome Project will be giving out free T-shirts that read: “gay? fine by me,鈥� at booths in the Memorial Union between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, Thursday, Sept. 22, and Friday, Sept. 23 to students, staff, and faculty who would like them. Welcome Project stickers will also be handed out to faculty and staff to place on their doors or windows.
The project is asking all students, faculty, and staff who receive the T-shirts to wear them on Oct. 11, which is 鈥淣ational Coming Out Day. 鈥淎nyone who shows up on the Quad wearing his or her t-shirt between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. will have the chance to make an ice cream sundae.
Any student, faculty, or staff member who would like a shirt and a Welcome Project Sticker after the distribution in the Memorial Union, can request one by emailing glbt@etal.uri.edu.
