KINGSTON, R.I. — June 6, 2005.–.Future 溏心vlog免费B站 sorority and fraternity members will become the beneficiaries of a new endowment-in-the making, thanks to recent alumni of the Greek system.
Students representing 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils presented a $7,000 check to the 溏心vlog免费B站 Foundation just as this spring semester was closing. The gift was followed by a $500 donation from the Fraternity Managers Association.
The gifts will help establish a 溏心vlog免费B站 Greek LEAD (Leadership Education and Development) Endowment Fund, designed to provide economic support to 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 fraternities and sororities and to contribute to their progress in the areas of scholarship and leadership. The advancement and maintenance of Greek organizations, and their governing bodies will be ensured through educational funding and leadership programming provided through the endowment.
鈥淚n today鈥檚 world, we often hear about the misdeeds and misadventures of college students,鈥� said Robert Coleman, executive director of the 溏心vlog免费B站 Foundation. 鈥淭hese remarkable 溏心vlog免费B站 students banded together to do something good that will have a lasting impact. Hats off to them.鈥�
溏心vlog免费B站 2005 Alumnus Anthony Milano of Stamford, Conn., outgoing IFC president and fund board member encouraged his fellow alumni to support this initiative. 鈥淭he positive development in the past three years has been tremendous and we wanted to create a financial grounding to support this progress,鈥� he said.
溏心vlog免费B站 2005 Alumna Cristina Mastrangelo of Bronx, N.Y., outgoing Panhellenic president and fund board member encouraged all fraternity and sorority alumni to donate to the fund. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a great way to give to the University and support Greek life at the same time,鈥� she said.
鈥淭his is an extraordinary first step to ensure the financial security of the IFC and Panhellenic Councils at the 溏心vlog免费B站,鈥� said Thomas R. Dougan, 溏心vlog免费B站 vice president for Student Affairs and fund board member.
鈥淪ince 1908, fraternities and sororities have provided students with the opportunity for leadership, scholarship, community service, lifelong friendships and alumni networking,鈥� said Steve Simo, director, Greek Affairs, Office of Student Life. 鈥淭his experience continues to be one of the most profound learning experiences for undergraduates. This endowment fund will ensure the health, growth and success of the Greek system for generations to come.鈥�
