KINGSTON, R.I. — May 16, 2005 — 溏心vlog免费B站 senior Jemina Varghese set her own pace through college. She took off at a sprint; she excelled academically, served as a leader in the 溏心vlog免费B站 and local communities 鈥� and has done it all in a matter of three years.
鈥淚鈥檓 excited, nervous, and a little sad too,鈥� said Varghese of graduating this month. 鈥淚t was a lot of work and many sleepless nights. I had to stay on top of things and couldn鈥檛 go out a lot. Graduating early forces you to make school your priority over having fun, and at times, the motivation is difficult when you haven鈥檛 slept. But now I鈥檓 happy I did it. I don鈥檛 regret it at all,鈥� said the business management major, leadership minor, and Dean鈥檚 List student.
鈥淚 hated school at the beginning of freshman year, and then I started getting involved. I know everyone says that, but it鈥檚 so true.鈥� For Varghese, 鈥済etting involved鈥� meant serving as College of Business representative for the Student Senate, and spending a summer as an Orientation leader, as well as reviving and becoming president of 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 Model United Nations. She also served as a government relations intern at GTech.
Varghese said her busy years at 溏心vlog免费B站 also enhanced her cultural life. She explained that she was somewhat embarrassed by her Indian culture, but then visited India for a fourth time during her freshman year, and something 鈥榗licked.鈥� She since has become involved in the University鈥檚 annual Diversity Week and has danced with 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 Dreams of Diversity Through Dance and the Asian Students Association.
鈥� I love everything I鈥檝e done here, and [coming to 溏心vlog免费B站] was the best decision I鈥檝e ever made. I鈥檝e made the best friends I鈥檒l ever have, I have the best memories, and I even still have my mom to do my laundry,鈥� joked the South Kingstown resident. 鈥淚 do help her fold though.鈥�
