Housman鈥檚 presentation, 鈥淭he Use of Bloodstains to Reconstruct Crime Scenes,鈥� will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Room 124 of Pastore Hall on the Kingston campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Housman will give a brief history of bloodstain analysis discussing techniques and advancements over the past century. Also, the physical characteristics of individual bloodstains will be analyzed to explain what information can be drawn from specific patterns and shapes. Other topics will be: what bloodstains tell, why bloodstain analysis works, the difference between low, medium and high energy bloodstains and the methods used to document bloodstains.
Housman has his bachelor of science in criminology from Indiana State University and his master鈥檚 of forensic science from The George Washington University. He has spent 15 years in law enforcement, both with the FBI and NCIS. He spent five years reviewing death investigations for NCIS.
