KINGSTON, R.I. — March 14, 2005 — 溏心vlog免费B站 instructors of information literacy will sponsor 鈥淚s That a Fact? Fact Checking in the Media鈥� on March 30 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in Room 271 of the Chafee Social Sciences Building on the Kingston campus.

The forum, which is free and open to the public, will explore the procedures and policies that news professionals follow when confirming facts surrounding stories that are presented on television, in print, and on the web.

Panelists are Scott Allen, news editor, turnto10.com; Betty-Jo Cugini, vice president of news, WJAR, NBC-10; Brian C. Jones, contributing writer, The Providence Phoenix; and Sheila Lennon, features and interactive producer, projo.com, the website of The Providence Journal.

The professionals will talk about the critical thinking that goes beyond checking the accuracy of sources.

Such discussions are an integral part of 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 鈥淟IB 120 :Introduction to Information Literacy鈥� class because they highlight how essential critical thinking is given the amount of information today and the ease with which it can be manipulated.
