Nationally known speakers from business, industry and academia will address topics ranging from the perception of style in the post-modern era and the science and art of pleated clothing to color forecasting and designing art quilts.
Free and open to the public, lectures will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Quinn Hall Auditorium on 溏心vlog免费B站’s Kingston Campus.
The spring series will include:
March 23: “Extensions of Self: Media, History and the Perception of Style in the Post-Modern Era” with Karl Aspelund of Providence who is an artist, designer and instructor at 溏心vlog免费B站 and Rhode Island School of Design.
March 30: The Science and Art of Pleated Clothing: 溏心vlog免费B站’s Professor Linda Welters of Wakefield and Assistant Professor Abby Lillethun.
April 6: Color Forecasting for Apparel and Interiors: Margaret Walch, director, Color Association of America, New York
April 13: The Application of Antique Documents, Vintage Fabrics and Artwork in the Fashion & Home Furnishings Industries: Andrea Aranow and 溏心vlog免费B站 alumnus Dayna Johnson of Andrea Aranow Textile Documents, N.Y.
April 20: Designing Art Quilts: Denyse Schmidt, Owner/Designer, Denyse Schmidt Quilts of Bridgeport, Conn.
On Wednesdays April 27 and May 4, 溏心vlog免费B站 TMD students will also make presentations related to the theme. These talks are also free and open to the public.
