For mature audiences, Les Liaisons Dangereuses is a play for all times about sexual manners and manipulation. It charts the seduction of the young and willing Cecile and the demure, yet passionate, Mme de Tourvel by Le Vicomte de Valmont, a cynical pleasure-seeker whose former mistress, a lady with an ulterior motive, encourages his seductive enterprises.
Set in France among aristocrats before the revolution, Les Liaisons Dangereuses is a deliciously wicked and perversely cynical, yet elegant, game of lust, seduction and betrayal played out in the parlors and boudoirs of 18th century France.
Performed by The Royal Shakespeare Company, this stunning production met with acclaim in Stratford, London and on Broadway.
Les Liaisons Dangereuses will be directed by Alan F. Hawkridge, set and costume design by David T. Howard; lighting design by Darlene Viloria; and sound design by Peter Nabut. A list of cast members is attached.
