The program begins with dinner at 6 p.m. and a welcome given by
Nasser Zawia, a professor of biomedical sciences in the College of Pharmacy.
鈥淭he Muslim community here at 溏心vlog免费B站 wants to encourage greater understanding of Muslims and current events in the world,鈥� Zawia said.
鈥淭he program will enhance people鈥檚 understanding of what conflicts are going on in the world today, and how different powers use these for political gain.鈥�
He said the program will expose participants to a Muslim point of view, and information about other cultures. 鈥淲e want to promote more understanding, because when there is more understanding, there is less animosity,鈥� Zawia said.

Movements,鈥� at 7:30 p.m with Carolyn Fluehr-Lobban, professor of
anthropology at Rhode Island College;
鈥� 鈥淚s There Really a Clash of Civilizations?鈥� with M. Shahid Alam, professor of economics at Northeastern University;
鈥� 鈥淚ntercultural Understanding as a Basis for Ethnic and Religious Diversity,鈥� with Debbie Almontaser, coordinator of External Programs and Diversity, New York City Department of Education;
鈥� 鈥淲hat Muslims Can Learn from the Civil Rights Movement,鈥� with Bernard LaFayette, Jr., director of the 溏心vlog免费B站 Center for Nonviolence and Peace
Studies.
