The second class in the Cooperative Extension Education Center’s Summer Gardening School, Sustainable Shrubs & Bothersome Bugs, will be held on Monday, July 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This class will feature a walk through the 溏心vlog免费B站 gardens with College of the Environment and Life Sciences Professors Brian Maynard and Richard Casagrande they will discuss sustainable planting and gardening strategies.
The professors will show trees and shrubs that are well-suited to home landscapes in Southern New England and discuss the beneficial insects that are brought on by careful plant selections. Casagrande, an entomologist, will point out which insects residing in the garden are helpful, and which are potential pests.
The class will be held at the Cooperative Extension Education Center, 3 East Alumni Ave. Admission is $15 per person. To register or for more information, call the Cooperative Extension Education Center at 874-2900.
