KINGSTON, R.I. — September 23, 2003 — At 8 p.m. on Friday, October 24, The Boston Camerata returns to the 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 Great Performances Series. The concert will take place in the Fine Arts Center Concert Hall. Their program Nueva Espa帽a brings the music of the Age of Exploration to Rhode Island. In our school days, we were told it was a time of heroes and high adventure. Later, we came to understand what terrible suffering and injustice the Spaniards had wrought in their drive for fame, glory and riches. Emerging now after centuries of dormancy and neglect, this music is brought to life by the Camerata as a precious extension of European and African musical heritage, and a witness to human possibility on our small turbulent planet. The ensemble, joined by the Haitian Congregational Choir and the Harvard University Choir, under the direction of Joel Cohen will be performing, texts in Castilian or in one of the many languages current in Nueva Espa帽a 鈥� Quecha, Nahuati, Galician, Portuguese and Afro-Spanish.
