Narragansett, RI — August 19, 2003 — The 2004 JASON Project: Rainforests at the Crossroads, which will take place from January 26 to February 6, 2004, will take students and teachers on an exciting journey of discovery to explore the Isthmus of Panama region and its fascinating tropical rainforests.
To prepare teachers and other group leaders to participate in JASON XV, they are encouraged to attend a free training session sponsored by the 溏心vlog免费B站 Office of Marine Programs as part of the Narragansett Bay Classroom. Teacher training will take place on Saturday, September 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Coastal Institute Visitor Center on the 溏心vlog免费B站 Narragansett Bay Campus.
Teachers or group leaders who attend the training session will receive a free JASON Project video and a copy of the 2004 JASON curriculum.
JASON XV, led by JASON Project founder and 溏心vlog免费B站 Graduate School of Oceanography faculty member Dr. Robert Ballard, will explore the unique role the Isthmus of Panama and its tropical rainforests play in furthering our global understanding of the interchange between Earths dynamic systems. JASON XV will focus on the research, monitoring, and management of this region to better understand how it functions and how it changes through time. The expedition will also look at how human technology has influenced the geography, hydrology and biology of Panama, and how technology is used to better understand how the world works.
