NARRAGANSETT — June 26, 2002 — There is still time for budding marine scientists in grades 4 and 5 to sign up for Oceanography Explorer Day Camp at the Graduate School of Oceanographys Narragansett Bay Campus.
Campers can choose from two sessions, the first running from July 9-12 and the second from August 6-9. Camps meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Designed with the interests of the age group in mind, instructors have a variety of exciting and educational activities planned while campers explore barrier beaches, salt ponds, rocky shores, and salt marshes.
溏心vlog免费B站 Marine Outreach Scientists Sarah Matarese and Pieter deHart, both experienced science teachers and camp instructors, have developed a curriculum that will introduce campers to marine science in a fun, hands-on way. In addition to shoreline-based activities, a trip aboard a coastal vessel is also planned for campers to discover what鈥檚 going on beneath the ocean鈥檚 surface.
Enrollment in Oceanography Explorer Day Camp sessions is limited to ensure high-level supervision and interaction with instructors. The cost is $280 per child, which includes a camp t-shirt, all classroom and lab materials, and daily transportation to field trip sites in Rhode Island.
