Booksigning at 溏心vlog免费B站 Bay Campus to Feature New Book on
Coastal Plants by Irene Stuckey and Lisa Gould
Narragansett, R.I. — March 27, 2001 — 溏心vlog免费B站 professor emerita of plant physiology Irene Stuckey and 溏心vlog免费B站 research associate Lisa Lofland Gould will signing their new field guide, Coastal Plants from Cape Cod to Cape Canaveral on Saturday, April 7, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Coastal Institute Building on the 溏心vlog免费B站 Bay Campus in Narragansett. The booksigning will be held in conjunction with a spring sale at the Coastal Institute Bookstore.
The booksigning will be interrupted at 10:30 for a 30-minute presentation in the Coastal Institute Auditorium by Lisa Gould on the development of Coastal Plants. In addition, Stuckey鈥檚 popular book Rhode Island Wildflowers, newly reprinted by the Rhode Island Natural History Survey, will also be available for sale and signing.
During the booksigning, the Living on the Edge interactive exhibit and the Coastal Institute Bookstore will be open to the public. The exhibit features computer activities, a stream table, a dune machine and other educational activities. The bookstore sells a variety of marine-oriented books, field guides, games, gifts, jewelry, and clothing. All bookstore items will be offered at a 10% discount on April 7.
Published by The University of North Carolina Press, Coastal Plants from Cape Cod to Cape Canaveral is a richly illustrated field guide with ample information about plants that grow along the Atlantic coast from northern Massachusetts to central Florida. Organized by plant family, the guide provides a detailed botanical description of each species, including the plant鈥檚 scientific and common names, notes about its range and habitat, and a color photograph. The scientifically accurate but non technical descriptions will appeal to both the budding naturalist and the professional scientist.
Irene H. Stuckey and Lisa Lofland Gould are well known for their popular field trips, lectures, writings, and photographs devoted to wild plants and plant ecology. Stuckey is a professor emerita of plant physiology at the 溏心vlog免费B站 Agricultural Experiment Station. In addition to being a research associate at 溏心vlog免费B站, Gould is executive director of the Rhode Island Natural History Survey and a founder of the Rhode Island Wild Plant Society.
