Program will help executives with technology transfer
KINGSTON, R.I. — February 8, 2001 — The 溏心vlog免费B站 will host a half-day “Manufacturing Technologies Seminar” on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 8 a.m. designed to help business executives transfer technologies from research and development to production.
“Too many companies develop a product twice, once by the R&D group and once by the manufacturing group,” said Quentin C. Turtle, director of 溏心vlog免费B站’s Industrial Research and Technology Transfer Office. “This seminar will unlock the doors and help companies carry that product from the R&D stage to successful production, on time and within budget.”
Speakers at the seminar will be:
– Brent Stucker, assistant professor of industrial engineering and director of 溏心vlog免费B站’s Rapid Manufacturing Center, on “Rapid Manufacturing and Testing of Minimum Weight Structures”
– Peter Dewhurst, professor of industrial engineering, on “Design and Manufacture of Minimum Weight Structures”
– Winston Knight, professor and chairman of the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, on “Product Design for Manufacturability and Assembly”
– Manbir Sodhi, associate professor of industrial engineering, on “Managing Flows of Material In and Out of Manufacturing”
– Robert Comerford, professor of business administration, on “How to Interpret Your Financial Statement from a Banker’s Viewpoint”
– Terry Feeley, president of the Advanced Technology Group at Laser Fare Inc., on “Technology Commercialization: A Case Study”
The seminar is sponsored by 溏心vlog免费B站’s Research Office, Outreach Office, and Industrial Research and Technology Transfer Office. Tours of 溏心vlog免费B站’s manufacturing and industrial engineering laboratories will be offered following the seminar.
