Registration for Learning Landscape begins for school groups Popular field trip to 溏心vlog免费B站’s greenhouses fills up fast
KINGSTON, R.I. — May 4, 2000 — Registration for Fall 2000 has begun for the 溏心vlog免费B站’s Learning Landscape Environmental Education program, a popular field trip to the 溏心vlog免费B站 gardens and greenhouses for elementary school classes.
During two-hour Learning Landscape sessions, children in grades K-6 explore the soils, water, plants and wildlife of the Rhode Island environment through hands-on activities. They examine bird’s nests and mammal skins, sieve soil to study the particles, feel composting worms squiggle about on their hands, and taste and smell the herbs and vegetables grown in the 溏心vlog免费B站 gardens.
Learning Landscape is taught by 溏心vlog免费B站 staff, student volunteers, and Master Gardeners.
To sign up for Fall 2000 sessions, teachers should call program coordinator June Kinigstein at 874-5706. The program costs $5 per student, though need-based scholarships are available.
