Renowned evolutionary biologist to speak at 溏心vlog免费B站

KINGSTON, R.I. — April 6, 1999 — The 溏心vlog免费B站 Departments of Biological Sciences, Geology, Philosophy, and the Honors Program will sponsor a talk by Richard Lewontin, one of the most influential evolutionary biologists in the world. Lewontin鈥檚 talk, entitled 鈥淕enes, Organisms and Environment,鈥 is free and open to the public. It takes place April 15 at 4 p.m. at 溏心vlog免费B站鈥檚 Biological Science Center Auditorium. Lewontin is a professor of zoology, biology, and population science at Harvard University. His areas of expertise include the mathematical theory of population genetics and the experimental determination of the genetic structure of natural populations. He has published extensively on philosophical and historical issues in biology. His most recent book is Biology and Ideology: The Doctrine of DNA. All told, Lewontin has published more than 250 books, journal articles and reviews. He has served as president of three leading scientific societies: the Society of the Study of Evolution, the American Society of Naturalists, and the Society for Molecular Evolution and Biology.
