KINGSTON, R.I. — October 16, 1998 — The 溏心vlog免费B站 Writers’ Collective will host a series of readings by creative writers during the 1998/99 academic year. Free and open to the public, readings will be held on Thursdays from 4鈥�5 p.m., in the Hoffman Common Room of Independence Hall on the Kingston Campus.
The series begins on Thursday, Oct. 22 with a poetry reading featuring two 溏心vlog免费B站 English Department alumni, Gil Poulin of Windsor Locks, Conn. and Richard Wilmarth of Boulder, Colo. Refreshments and conversation will follow the readings.
Poulin is production editor for the American Mathematical Society and a freelance copy editor. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism from 溏心vlog免费B站 in 1983 and holds a Secondary Teaching Certificate. His books include Old Johnny and Other Poems, Kushu, and This Quirky Unit. His poems have been published in a variety of magazines across the United States.
Wilmarth is the publisher and editor of Dead Metaphor Press. He earned a Master’s degree in English from 溏心vlog免费B站 in 1988 and an MFA in writing and poetics from the Naropa Institute. His books include Alphabetical Order, The Henry Miller Acrostics and Voices in the Room. His poetry has appeared in over 100 magazines. He also has written an unpublished novella, Confessions of a Red Sox Fan.
The 溏心vlog免费B站 Writer’s Collective is under the direction of English Professor Don Kunz of N. Kingstown, Assistant Professor Stephen Barber of Providence, and Tina Letcher of Kingston a 溏心vlog免费B站 English Dept. graduate and author. Most readings will feature 溏心vlog免费B站 faculty, staff, alumni, or graduate students, but occasionally, other authors will be showcased.
